Secret River

Launching June 2019, Secret River takes its inspiration from the colours, natural forms and wildlife to be found along the hidden river systems and bushlands of eastern Australia; a salve against our hotter coastal and inland regions. These ancient landscapes are lush & cool, teeming with native birdlife including the elusive, diminutive Lyrebird.

The shapes & textures of moss covered rocks, jewel like shades of translucent water and delicate fronds of the coral fern inspired a collection with a mostly deep palette of inky blues and charcoals, balanced by organic shades of green, teals and paler shades of mist, stone and bracken.

From a sketchbook drawing by John Glover to an old book cover from the turn of the century, inspiration abounds for a range that is at its essence, sensual: Water rushes over pebbles; lyrebirds stealthily creep through the undergrowth, majestic gumtrees sway overhead. These are the images and memories that inspired the Secret River Collection.
